Logistics Coordinator

Our client, a wholesale consumer goods company is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their team in NYC!

Key Responsibilities:‍

• Coordinate international ocean shipments from suppliers to U.S. ports, ensuring timely bookings and delivery.
• Work with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams to manage shipment schedules and resolve issues
• Track bookings, ETDs/ETAs, container status, delays, and other transportation updates.
• Coordinate import documentation and support customs clearance and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate freight rates, shipment records, and logistics data within internal systems.
• Review freight invoices, identify discrepancies, and support cost control and resolution.
• Monitor transportation costs, carrier performance, and service levels.
• Provide shipment updates to internal teams and maintain accurate logistics reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase supply chain efficiency.
• Support additional supply chain and logistics projects as needed.
  
  

Qualifications:‍

• 3+ years of experience.
• Experience managing ocean freight, preferably from Asia to the U.S.
• Working knowledge of U.S. customs, import documentation, and HTS classification.
• Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
• Familiarity with freight rates, container costs, surcharges, and related transportation expenses.
• Strong Excel and data management skills; ERP/TMS experience preferred.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
• Manufacturing or import-focused experience preferred.
