Part-Time Private Chef

Our client, a UHNW Private Client, is seeking a Part-Time Private Chef to join their household in New Canaan, CT, with occasional travel to Palm Beach, FL during the winter months.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fresh, high-quality meals with a focus on low-histamine, SIBO-friendly, and gluten-conscious cuisine.
  • Prepare Celiac-safe meals when certain family members are in residence.
  • Create customized weekly menus based on the family’s preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Source fresh ingredients and ensure all meals meet established dietary guidelines.
  • Utilize proper food storage techniques, including flash freezing prepared meals.
  • Prepare meals for the Principal and her husband while accommodating different dietary preferences.
  • Manage grocery shopping, pantry organization, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Assist with meal preparation for holidays and occasional small gatherings.
  • Adapt menus and schedules around the family’s travel between New York City and Palm Beach.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Private Chef, preferably within a high-end private household.
  • Experience preparing meals for clients with specialized dietary needs, including food allergies, digestive health concerns, or physician-directed meal plans.
  • Strong understanding of low-histamine, SIBO-friendly, gluten-conscious, and allergy-sensitive cooking.
  • Knowledge of Celiac-safe food preparation and cross-contamination prevention.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, ingredient sourcing, and proper food storage.
  • Creative culinary skills with the ability to develop flavorful meals within dietary guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate client feedback.
  • Flexible schedule with availability approximately 3 days per week, including 1–2 weekends per month as needed.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Palm Beach, FL during the winter months.
  • Professional, discreet, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Culinary education or formal training preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to provide professional references.
