Pattern Maker

Our client, a popular contemporary women's fashion brand, is looking for a TEMPORARY Patternmaker to support their team on-site in Los Angeles! Applicants must have their own Gerber system and printer.

Responsibilities:
- Draft Patterns: Create initial patterns using manual draping, flat pattern drafting, or 2D/3D CAD software based on design sketches and specifications.
- Refine Fit: Partner with designers and technical designers during fit sessions. Analyze garment drape and silhouette, and execute necessary adjustments.
- Perform Size Grading: Grade patterns across a full size range while ensuring proportional balance and design intent remain intact.
- Oversee Sample Production: Collaborate closely with sample sewers to guide the assembly of prototype garments and troubleshoot construction issues.
- Optimize Fabric Yield: Calculate accurate fabric consumption and create efficient markers/layouts to minimize material waste during production.
- Maintain Archives: Organize, label, and maintain physical and digital pattern libraries for seasonal continuity and future replication.

Requirements:
- Must own a Gerber system and printer to print physical patterns.
- Must be comfortable with temporary employment.
- 3–5+ years of professional pattern-making experience in a commercial or atelier production environment.
