Head of People - Miami, FL

Our client, a growing consumer brand and media company, is seeking an experienced Head of People to lead talent acquisition, culture, and people strategy as the organization builds out a new office. This is a hands-on leadership role for an HR professional who thrives on building programs within a smaller, fast-moving organization. The role partners closely with senior leadership on recruiting, organizational design, and employee experience.

Responsibilities:
-Lead full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions and business areas
-Build direct sourcing strategies, using outside agencies selectively
-Establish and maintain a strong company culture and employee experience
-Oversee onboarding, internal communications, and recognition programs
-Partner with leadership on organizational design and workforce planning
-Support workforce transitions including retention and relocation decisions
-Develop a performance and development cycle and coach managers through it
-Supervise a people operations team member and oversee the broader function
-Serve as first point of contact for employee relations matters
-Maintain multi-state employment compliance

Qualifications:
-8+ years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations
-3+ years leading an HR or People function or major component
-Demonstrated experience managing in-house recruiting at volume
-Experience building people programs within a smaller organization
-Working knowledge of multi-state employment law
-Comfortable operating as a hands-on leader with a lean team
-Experience in media, entertainment, or consumer brand environments a plus
-SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification a plus
