Assistant Designer - Menswear

Our client, an established apparel company, is seeking a highly organized and creative Assistant Designer to support its Men's Design team across multiple product categories, including woven shirts, sweaters, cut & sew knits, bottoms, and outerwear. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about menswear and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.



Responsibilities

  • Assist the design team in creating sketches, CADs, print artwork, and presentation materials across all men's apparel categories.
  • Support the development of seasonal print concepts, logo trims, graphics, and color palettes.
  • Research and analyze market trends, colors, prints, fabrics, silhouettes, and competitive brands to identify commercially viable opportunities.
  • Build, update, and maintain line sheets, CAD boards, and seasonal presentation materials.
  • Attend meetings and development reviews; take detailed notes and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Communicate daily with cross-functional partners including Sales, Product Development, Merchandising, Production, and overseas vendors.
  • Maintain accurate development tracking tools, including development charts, sample trackers, and seasonal calendars.
  • Organize and file lab dips, strike-offs, fabric submissions, trims, and development materials.
  • Track incoming and outgoing samples and ensure the design team is informed of sample status and deadlines.
  • Provide general organizational and administrative support to the design team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 0-1 years of apparel design experience, internships included.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Excellent sketching, CAD, and print development skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
