People & Culture Associate

A rapidly scaling tech startup is hiring for an agile, forward-thinking People & Culture Associate to join our lean, high-energy People team. Working directly alongside our dynamic Head of People & Culture, you will have a front-row seat to building a world-class workplace. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will touch everything from employee experience and daily operations to advanced people analytics aDIrend change management.

Hours: Generally 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, depending on the day’s priorities. As a startup, hours adapt to business needs, but we prioritize working efficiently and logging off when the work is done.
Office Location: Beautiful office space located near 30th & Broadway in NYC, offering a collaborative hybrid structure.

Salary & Benefits:
• 145k–$175k salary range commensurate with experience

What You’ll Do
Culture & Community Engagement
• Champion the New Hire Experience: Elevate and manage our onboarding framework to ensure every new teammate is set up for success and feels welcomed from day one.
• Cultivate Connection: Design and implement internal initiatives and events that bring our core values to life and strengthen our team community.
• Drive People Programs: Help steer key talent milestones, including performance review cycles, internal growth updates, and engagement pulse surveys.

People Analytics & Advanced AI Workflows
• Own the Data Narrative: Monitor and evaluate critical workforce metrics (headcount, attrition, engagement, and DEI), turning raw numbers into strategic insights for leadership.
• Build AI-Driven Dashboards: Leverage advanced AI tools daily—including building and managing automated dashboards (e.g., Claude)—to streamline reporting and data visualization.
• Executive Presentation: Partner with the Head of People to prep and deliver high-level talent insights and recommendations directly to the C-suite.

People Ops & Strategy
• Cross-Functional Operations: Collaborate closely with IT, Finance, and Legal to maintain seamless, compliant day-to-day HR operations.
• Optimize Workflows: Proactively spot operational bottlenecks and design scalable solutions before they impact the team.
• Employee Support: Act as an accessible, trusted, and empathetic point of contact for team inquiries regarding HR programs and internal policies.

Change Management & Transitions
• Guide Team Evolution: Support employees and leadership through organizational shifts, ensuring communication is transparent, empathetic, and timely.
• Build Transition Frameworks: Help construct change management structures that minimize disruption and protect team trust during periods of rapid scaling.


What We’re Looking For
• Experience: At least 4 years of progressive HR/People Operations experience. Must have dedicated experience working within a fast-growing startup environment (tech preferred).
• AI Fluency (Mandatory): You must be highly proficient in utilizing AI tools daily to optimize workflows and build automated data dashboards.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong data literacy; you are highly comfortable building reports, interpreting metrics, and using data to influence business decisions.
• Adaptability & Drive: A proven generalist foundation with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a lean environment where ambiguity is common. (Note: An Analyst is on the team to support heavy administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on execution and strategy).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; strong academic background is a plus.
• Communication & Empathy: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an innate ability to balance business structure with genuine human empathy.
• Tech Stack Familiarity: Experience with modern workspace tools (Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, Ramp) and robust HRIS platforms.
• Curiosity: An interest in fintech, Web3, or next-generation financial infrastructure (no prior expertise required, just a willingness to learn!).
