Design Director - Kids Sleep and Swim
Our client, a growing kids apparel company, is seeking a Design Director - Kids Sleepwear to join their team in New York.
Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and oversee the development of sleepwear from inception to the finished product line, based on market and trend analysis, with direction from the Design Director.
Collaborate closely with all relevant teams to implement product vision and technical specifications.
Manage every aspect of the development process to ensure product quality during mass production.
Conduct market research for both competitive insights and creative inspiration.
Create and relay tech packs to the Technical Design team.
Develop BOMs for all items and manage any necessary updates throughout the development process.
Follow and comply with the seasonal development timeline.
Oversee fabric and artwork approvals to ensure consistent quality and execution.
Generate and maintain line sheets and design visual references.
Participate in all cross-departmental meetings, addressing and resolving product development challenges.
Qualifications:
Degree in fashion design or equivalent professional experience.
8-10 years of experience in product design and development.
Expertise in the relevant classification/category.
Strong knowledge of sleepwear requirements.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
Experience in PLM software is a bonus.
High work ethic and integrity.
Ability to adapt positively to work pressures.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in office full time.
