Fabric Development Coordinator

Our client, a wholesale manufacturing company in retail is looking for a Fabric R&D / Fabric Development Coordinator in NYC!

Responsibilities:

Research and analyze market trends across apparel categories, brands, and retailers to identify relevant material and product direction
Support the development and sourcing of fabrics and materials for a variety of apparel classifications
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners throughout the product development process
Assist with material approvals, sample tracking, testing coordination, and development follow-up
Evaluate fabrics and materials for overall quality, performance, and aesthetic consistency
Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and production partners to help ensure timelines and standards are met
Help resolve development and production challenges related to materials and fabrication
Maintain organization of development records, approvals, and project updates


Qualifications:

3+ years of experience
Understanding of textile construction, materials, and garment finishing processes
Familiarity with trend-driven product development and commercial market direction
Experience working with external vendors, factories, or manufacturing partners preferred
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
