Human Resources Operations Partner
Our client, a well-established entertainment company based on the Westside, is seeking an experienced HR Operations Partner to oversee their People function. This role requires deep knowledge of California employment law, strong HRIS expertise, and the ability to manage a broad range of HR responsibilities with accuracy and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and audit biweekly payroll in partnership with the Payroll team
- Administer and maintain the HRIS (UKG Pro), including data integrity, workflows, and system enhancements
- Manage benefits administration — open enrollment, life events, broker relationships, and employee education
- Oversee leave of absence programs (CFRA, FMLA, PDL, PFL, ADA, workers' comp) in compliance with California law; NY/CT familiarity a plus
- Handle onboarding and offboarding end-to-end, including I-9 compliance and exit interviews
- Monitor changes in federal, state, and local employment law and keep policies current
- Maintain the Employee Handbook and HR documentation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and HR matters
Qualifications
- 5+ years in HR operations, generalist, payroll, or benefits administration
- Hands-on UKG Pro experience strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of California employment law — wage and hour, leaves, and accommodations
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and discreet
- Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities
- SHRM-CP or PHR a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
