Technical Designer

Our client, a wholesale apparel manufacturing brand is seeking a Technical Designer in NYC!


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee product fit and construction throughout development.
  • Review samples for measurements, workmanship, and overall quality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, construction details, and development notes.
  • Partner closely with design, production, and vendor teams to support product execution.
  • Help identify solutions related to fit, construction, quality, and overall product performance.
  • Manage multiple styles and categories while supporting seasonal calendars and key deadlines.
  • Communicate updates and technical comments clearly with internal teams and external partners.
  • Support process improvements and maintain organization of fit standards, development tools, and technical records.
  • Ensure products are developed accurately and aligned with company expectations for quality, fit, and consistency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and apparel development processes.
  • Experience creating and updating technical packages/specifications throughout development.
  • Ability to review samples and identify construction, fit, or quality issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office, and PLM systems preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • 4 days onsite, 1 day WFH
