Social Media Manager
We’re partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to lead and evolve the organization’s digital presence. This role blends high-level strategy with hands-on content creation, driving engagement, awareness, and advocacy across global audiences. You’ll play a key role in shaping how the organization tells its story, balancing human impact with systems-level change, while building an engaged, mission-driven online community.
Hybrid onsite 3x, 2 days remote) + domestic travel as needed (20-25%)
What You’ll Do:
Social Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a multi-platform social media strategy aligned with brand and organizational goals
- Build and manage monthly content calendars across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging platforms
- Define KPIs (engagement, reach, conversions, growth) and continuously optimize performance
- Track and report on performance metrics (engagement, CTR, conversions, growth)
- Conduct A/B testing and refine strategy based on data insights
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Create platform-native content (Reels, TikToks, graphics, short-form video, posts)
- Write compelling captions and CTAs that drive engagement and action
- Translate complex initiatives into clear, engaging, and shareable narratives
Community Management
- Engage directly with audiences via comments, DMs, and interactive content
- Foster an authentic, inclusive, and highly engaged online community
Platform Growth & Optimization
- Implement growth strategies (organic, paid, influencer partnerships)
- Stay ahead of trends, platform updates, and algorithm changes
- Optimize posting cadence and workflows using social management tools
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams (programs, fundraising, partnerships) to amplify campaigns and initiatives
- Support major campaigns (e.g., fundraising pushes, advocacy efforts, program launches)
What We’re Looking For
- 5–8+ years of social media management experience (agency, brand, or nonprofit)
- Proven success growing and engaging audiences across multiple platforms
- Strong content creation skills (copywriting, design, video editing)
- Experience with tools like Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, and native analytics platforms
- Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite; video tools like CapCut or Premiere
- Deep understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices
- Data-driven mindset with ability to translate analytics into actionable insights
- Strong storytelling ability, particularly for mission-driven or impact-focused content
- High cultural sensitivity and commitment to ethical, inclusive storytelling
- Highly organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
