Executive Business Partner to CTO
A highly successful AI company is seeking an exceptional Executive Business Partner to serve as a true extension of the CTO in a high-velocity, high-stakes environment. This is not a traditional executive assistant role—this is a strategic operator who thinks, acts, and prioritizes alongside the CTO. You will own how the CTO’s time, energy, and attention are deployed across the company, ensuring maximum impact during a critical phase with two upcoming product launches. This role is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, loves solving complex problems, and operates with urgency and precision.
Location: San Francisco (Dogpatch)
Schedule: 5 days onsite
Compensation: $180 - 240k Base + Bonus + Equity + Generous Perks!
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Partnership
- Act as a proxy for the CTO in internal and cross-functional discussions
- Drive alignment across engineering, product, and leadership teams
- Anticipate needs, identify bottlenecks, and proactively remove obstacles
- Own and optimize the CTO’s time—ensuring focus on highest-impact priorities
- Lead critical initiatives and special projects end-to-end
- Collaborate deeply with internal teams to maintain speed and execution quality
- Lead the CTO’s external presence and thought leadership, including building relationships with industry leaders, managing executive communications, etc.
Operational Excellence
- Manage and optimize a highly dynamic calendar with precision
- Strategically schedule deep work blocks
- Coordinate across time zones and late-night engineering schedules, especially during launches
- Ensure rapid response times
What You Bring:
- 5+ years in a fast-paced startup environment supporting a C-level leader
- Strong technical acumen; ability to engage with engineering concepts and workflows
- Proven experience operating in fast-paced, high-performance environments
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a bias toward action
- Ability to think several steps ahead and make decisions independently
- High ownership mentality—nothing falls through the cracks
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to operate with a 24/7 mindset
- Availability for 10–20% travel
