Head of Global Payroll
A premier global investment firm is seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Global Payroll. Joining a high-performing Corporate Accounting Team, you will serve as the functional lead for payroll operations across the globe. This is a VP level role.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring seamless, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while spearheading automation and process improvements for a sophisticated global workforce.
Location: New York, NY (Midtown)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days in office) from 8:30am-5:30pm
Compensation & Benefits
• Base Salary: $175,000 – $200,000 (flexible, commensurate with experience).
• Bonus: Eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus.

Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, with a proven track record in a global leadership capacity.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Workday and ADP
• Certifications: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or Global Payroll Management Certificate is highly desirable.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge of international taxation, social insurance contributions, and global labor compliance.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale system implementations and transformations.
Key Responsibilities
• Global Oversight: Direct the end-to-end payroll lifecycle for all international regions, ensuring strict adherence to regional tax laws, labor regulations, and statutory filing mandates.
• Financial Partnership: Lead payroll accounting, monthly reconciliations, and reporting in close collaboration with the broader Corporate Accounting and Finance teams.
• Executive Compensation: Manage and execute high-level compensation payments to Executive Managing Directors via wire transfer.
• System Innovation: Drive the optimization of global payroll systems; identify and implement automation initiatives to enhance scalability and accuracy.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with international payroll service providers and third-party vendors to ensure service excellence.
• Benefits & Compliance: Oversee 401k plan operations, including employer matching, and lead all internal/external audits related to payroll processes.
• Strategic Collaboration: Act as a key stakeholder alongside Human Capital, Tax, and Technology departments to support firm-wide strategic initiatives.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of high accountability and continuous professional growth.
