Senior Designer
Our Client, a manufacturer specializing in women's and junior fashion is seeking a Senior Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing junior apparel, a strong understanding of market trends, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Sales and Buyers to develop products aligned with customer needs and market trends.
- Design trend-right apparel for the junior customer, with a focus on cut & sew knit categories.
- Create CAD sketches and presentation materials for internal and customer meetings.
- Conduct market research and competitive shopping, both online and in-store, across domestic and international markets.
- Research and present seasonal trends in color, print, silhouette, fabrication, and styling.
- Collaborate with costing teams to prepare recap charts and support customer projects.
- Review proto samples, layouts, and lab dips, providing clear feedback and direction.
- Participate in fittings alongside Technical Design and Production teams to ensure fit and quality standards are met.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a strong understanding of cut & sew knit fabrications, construction methods, and industry trends.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of apparel design experience, preferably within junior apparel.
- Strong knowledge of cut & sew knit product development and construction.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with major Off-price and Mid-tier retailers
