Linux Developer

Our client, a design agency, is looking to hire a Linux Developer on a freelance basis ASAP!

This role is hybrid (3x/week) located in Brooklyn Navy Yard, for 3 months with the potential to extend.


Responsibilities
-  Develop and maintain embedded Linux systems and device drivers
-  Work with Linux driver systems, device trees, and device tree overlays
-  Develop and configure drivers for GPIO-based hardware interfaces, display hardware, and audio subsystems
-  Collaborate with hardware engineers to interpret schematics and board layouts
-  Write C/C++ test code for verifying driver functionality (GPIO, Audio, Display)
- Contribute to the design and debugging of electronic systems in an interdisciplinary environment

Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience developing embedded Linux systems
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of Linux device drivers
- Solid understanding of electronic design principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
