Legal Secretary

Our client, a premier litigation boutique consistently recognized for excellence, is seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to join their Houston office. This role offers the opportunity to support a team of top trial attorneys handling high-stakes commercial litigation nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative and legal support to five or more attorneys.
  • Prepare, edit, and file pleadings and legal documents with state and federal courts.
  • Manage attorney calendars, court dates, and deadlines using docketing systems.
  • Draft, review, and format legal documents, including TOAs and TOCs.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files.
  • Assist with billing, timekeeping, travel arrangements, and case management.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, including at least 3 years in commercial litigation at an Am Law 100 firm.
  • Proven ability to support five or more attorneys simultaneously.
  • Stability in prior roles, with at least 3 years of service at each organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and docketing systems.
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel for trials and be away for long (planned) periods as required and work overtime as needed.


Compensation: $77,000 – $85,000, based on experience

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week | Hybrid after probationary period (4 days in-office / 1 day remote)
