Handyman/Maintenance Technician – UHNW Family

A confidential ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) family is seeking a proactive and dependable Maintenance Technician / Handyman to oversee the general upkeep and hands-on maintenance of their private estate in Fort Lauderdale. This role requires a high level of discretion, initiative, and a strong understanding of property care, both indoors and out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general repairs and maintenance for the property, including light plumbing, minor electrical work, painting, and patching.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as changing HVAC filters and inspecting systems.
  • Maintain the appearance of outdoor spaces with landscaping duties, including mowing, mulching, weeding, and general yard clean-up.
  • Clean and care for outdoor furniture, cushions, and recreational areas; ensure all common areas are tidy and well-maintained.
  • Wash and detail vehicles, vacuum pools, and assist with seasonal maintenance tasks.
  • Execute basic handyman tasks such as moving furniture, covering outdoor furnishings, and minor fixture repairs.
  • Assist the Estate Manager and household staff with additional projects and property needs as assigned.
  • Run errands and support day-to-day operational needs with flexibility and reliability.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety and COVID protocols, maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
  • Handle unique property needs with discretion and respect for the residence’s privacy, including sensitive cleanup tasks as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role, preferably within a private household or luxury residential setting.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and home maintenance best practices.
  • Experience with yard work and landscaping tools; ability to manage physical outdoor tasks in Florida’s climate.
  • Organized, reliable, and hands-on with a no-task-too-small mentality.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while upholding the highest standards of property care and discretion.
