Men's & Boy's Designer

Our client, an apparel manufacturing brand, is seeking a creative Men’s and Boys’ Designer to join their team in NYC. This person should bring hands-on experience in designing across categories like casualwear, activewear, and sportswear.

Responsibilities

  • Design original, forward-thinking collections for men’s and boys’ categories that reflect current and upcoming trends.
  • Build seasonal assortments that highlight brand DNA while meeting commercial goals.
  • Create comprehensive tech packs with all details—construction notes, fabric selection, color palettes, trim information, and finishing techniques.
  • Specify garment construction elements including seams, stitches, finishes, and embellishments.
  • Research, source, and recommend fabrics, trims, and raw materials that elevate design quality and remain true to concept.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure materials and support sample development.
  • Attend fittings and provide input on fit, function, and overall product quality.
  • Stay ahead of industry shifts through market research, competitor analysis, and trend forecasting.
  • Translate insights into fresh ideas, mood boards, and collections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a closely related field.
  • Professional design experience in men’s and boys’ apparel.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating range, originality, and technical expertise.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction, pattern development, and textile properties.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
  • Strong creative instincts paired with a commercial mindset and trend awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.



$50k-75k depending on experience, 5 days in office.
