Senior Accountant

Our client, a scripted television and film production studio, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic, cross-functional team.


Location: Playa Vista, California. Onsite Monday-Thursday, Remote on Friday



Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the month-end and quarter-end close process, including month and quarter-end journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Translate financial data into clear, concise reporting materials that inform leadership decision-making
• Act as the operational backbone of the payables function, ensuring vendors are paid accurately and relationships are well-managed
• Maintain and enforce the Company’s revenue recognition policies in accordance with US GAAP
• Stay current on evolving accounting standards and apply that knowledge when the business encounters new or complex transaction types
• Build and maintain audit-ready documentation throughout the year so that external reviews are smooth and well-supported
• Partner with various teams to support operational and financial initiatives
• Take ownership of special projects spanning system implementations, workflow redesigns, and other finance initiatives as needed

Requirements‍

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of progressive financial accounting and/or audit experience
• Experience in the entertainment industry (film and/or television)
• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Sage Intacct preferred
• Deep fluency in US GAAP with a knack for translating technical rules into practical, workable guidance
• Known for staying composed and delivering under pressure when priorities shift and deadlines stack up
• A natural collaborator who earns trust quickly and communicates clearly with both financial and non-financial audiences
• Brings a growth mindset, sharp attention to detail, and a genuine drive to make things work better
• CPA preferred
