Sr. Internal Communications Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Internal Communications Specialist to support the execution and operational delivery of enterprise-wide internal communications programs. This role is highly execution-focused and works closely with the Director of Internal Communications to translate strategic direction into clear, timely, and high-quality employee messaging across multiple internal channels.

Pay: $ 45- 48/hjr
Duration: 6 months with possibility for extension or conversion based on performance
Location: Hybrid: 4 days onsite, Santa Monica, CA
Schedule: 8am-5pm


Key Responsibilities
Internal Content Development & Messaging Execution
- Draft internal communications aligned to established strategic narratives
- Edit and format content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy
- Prepare communications for distribution across email, intranet, Microsoft Teams, and presentation materials
- Maintain documentation and version control across initiatives
- Ensure adherence to established tone, voice, and messaging standards

Enterprise Channel Execution & Coordination
- Manage content intake and coordinate cross-functional inputs for organization-wide communications
- Consolidate materials and prepare content packages for review and approval
- Execute established communication plans across recurring updates (monthly updates, quarterly business communications, campus messaging, leadership communications)
- Oversee distribution logistics to ensure timely and accurate delivery


Internal Communications Operations & Calendar Management
- Own and maintain the centralized Internal Communications editorial calendar
- Serve as operational lead for the internal communications project tracker
- Provide visibility into timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across initiatives
- Align intake requests with communication cadence and organizational priorities
- Proactively flag sequencing conflicts, timeline risks, or resource constraints


Program Logistics & Production Support
- Support planning and logistics for internal events, leadership updates, and broadcast-style -programming
- Coordinate production timelines, materials, and vendor interactions as needed


Measurement & Reporting
- Track engagement metrics across internal channels
- Compile performance data and prepare summary reports
- Identify execution-level optimization opportunities and surface insights


Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
-Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, with a strong emphasis on internal or employee communications
-Demonstrated experience executing communications within established strategic frameworks
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Strong project management skills with the ability to manage concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment
-Experience supporting enterprise-level communications or complex stakeholder environments preferred
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint technologies, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator)
-Highly detail-oriented with a strong storytelling mindset and commitment to employee engagement
