FP&A Analyst

Our client, a fashion retail company, is seeking a strong FP&A Analyst to join their New York Team.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Forecasting
-Support monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
-Develop revenue, gross margin, and operating expense forecasts across retail stores, e-commerce, and wholesale channels.
-Partner with Merchandising and Planning teams to model sales, inventory turnover, markdown impact, and margin performance.
-Analyze weekly and monthly business trends, including comp sales, AUR, UPT, sell-through, markdown rates, and inventory productivity.
-Deliver variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
-Build and maintain dashboards tracking KPIs by channel, region, and product category.
-Support new store openings, market expansions, and product launches through financial modeling and ROI analysis.
-Analyze pricing strategies, promotional activity, and margin optimization initiatives.
-Assist with long-range planning and scenario modeling (best/worst-case forecasts).
-Collaborate with Accounting during month-end close to ensure accurate revenue and expense reporting.
-Partner with Supply Chain and Inventory teams to monitor working capital and inventory health.
-Prepare executive-ready presentations for leadership and board reporting.

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
-2–4+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis experience (retail, fashion, or consumer goods preferred).
-Strong understanding of retail metrics and margin drivers.
-Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, scenario analysis).
-Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
-Strong communication skills with ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
-Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
