Director of Product Design - Soft Home Decor

Our client, an apparel design and manufacturing company, is looking for a TEMPORARY Director of Product Design to assist their team with Soft Home Décor on-site in Los Angeles!

Responsibilities:
• Creative Vision & Strategy: Own the overall design direction and aesthetic for all soft home categories, creating collections that align with target consumer lifestyles.
• Trend Forecasting: Lead market research through trade shows and global trend hubs to translate macro trends into clear seasonal concepts, color stories, and material choices.
• Design Workflow Management: Oversee the full product lifecycle from initial concept and sketching through material selection, tech pack creation, and final sampling.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with merchandising, global product development, and sourcing teams to ensure designs meet margin goals, quality standards, and delivery calendars.
• Stakeholder Presentation: Deliver visually compelling presentations to executives and external retail buyers to articulate design visions and gain project approvals.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Textile Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
• 10+ years of product design experience with leadership responsibility of soft home goods, textiles, & decorative accessories.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating trend-based, commercially successful product design work.
