Senior Asset Manager
Institutional social impact investment management investing in community-enriching infrastructure in underserved markets across the country.
The Company is currently seeking an experienced Senior Asset Manager for its workforce housing platform. The position will be based in the company’s headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. The candidate will join a closely-knit team and actively assist in the management of a portfolio of multifamily assets throughout the country.
Responsibilities will include:
• Developing asset-level business plans and budgets, including for capital projects and operations;
• Updating and maintaining investment-level asset management proformas and performing ad hoc scenario analyses;
• Managing asset level risks and opportunities, including those related to insurance, utilities, and taxes;
• Researching and maintaining a pulse on market dynamics and performance;
• Working closely with the property management company to ensure the successful execution of each asset’s marketing, leasing, operations, maintenance, social and environmental impact programming, and capex plans;
• Ensuring compliance for each asset’s loan and other contractual obligations;
• Developing and maintaining relationships with lenders and business partners;
• Preparing quarterly and other periodic reporting to investors and lenders to ensure timely, accurate, consistent, and complete deliverables;
• Utilizing and honing business intelligence tools to track and improve key performance indicators that span operational, financial, social, and environmental impact;
• Coordinating internally across platforms, departments and functions, including legal and accounting in the performance of duties; and
• Assisting in acquisition due diligence and portfolio management as needed.
Qualifications
• Passion for community/economic development and environmental sustainability;
• 7+ years of experience managing large-scale multifamily properties, spanning a range of affordable and market rate units, preferably within a private equity structure;
• Thorough understanding of all facets of multifamily management, including leasing, operations, budgets, capital projects, and financing;
• Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability;
• Strong oral and written presentation skills;
• Attention to detail and ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Experience working with and leading internal and external teams;
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
• Bachelors’ degree required; and
• Additional certifications (e.g., LEED, graduate degree) and familiarity with housing development, housing policy, and multifamily property management software are preferred.
