Merchandise Planning & Store Mapping Manager
A leading global beauty retailer is seeking a Merchandise Planning & Store Mapping Manager to support the execution of merchandising strategies across a large U.S. store fleet, including both freestanding and shop-in-shop locations. This role works closely with cross-functional partners to ensure stores are rebranded, enhanced, and retrofitted in alignment with sales objectives, timelines, and budgets. We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and can manage complexity with precision and urgency.
***This is a 1-year temporary role and is 100% remote. Headquarters are based in San Francisco, with alignment to a Field Support Center environment.
Responsibilities
• Support the gathering and implementation of merchant strategies and field requests on store maps, including biannual rebranding initiatives to drive sales and newness.
• Support the planning and execution of multiple store enhancements across varying scopes and timelines.
• Execute and maintain the master process timeline, ensuring accountability for all deliverables.
• Maintain master databases of branded and animated space by store and fixture for a portion of the U.S. fleet.
• Create new assortments and manage inventory start and stop dates for existing assortments impacted by retrofit and enhancement projects.
• Partner with Regional Directors and District Managers to manage and align on field requests and final store maps.
• Build deep regional knowledge of assigned stores.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Property Development, Purchasing & Procurement, Retail Operations, Visual Marketing, and Inventory teams.
• Analyze brand productivity and growth by door to influence merchandising strategies and branding decisions.
• Maintain a working knowledge of capital expenditure budgets and assess sales-driving and cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working for a retailer, preferably within Merchandising, Operations, or a related field.
• Highly process-oriented with strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and make decisions without complete information.
• Quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable engaging with multiple levels of the merchant organization and field leadership.
• Positive, proactive team player with strong cross-functional communication skills.
