Senior Major Gifts Officer

A leading New York City cultural institution is seeking a Senior Major Gifts Officer to support the growth of its major donor program, raising approximately $10M annually. This role manages a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects and securing six and seven figure gifts.

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of ~150 high-net-worth households with capacity for $25K+ annual gifts and $1M+ capital gift
- Conduct 60–80+ in-person donor meetings annually to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts
- Secure six and seven-figure major, restricted, and campaign gifts
- Develop tailored fundraising strategies, proposals, and donor communications
- Identify and qualify new prospects in partnership with prospect research
- Track donor activity accurately in Raiser’s Edge
- Represent the organization at donor events and engagements, including evenings

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8–10+ years of fundraising experience
- Proven success closing 5-, 6-, and 7-figure gifts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM
- Strategic, collaborative, and results-driven
- NYC philanthropic and cultural institution experience strongly preferred
