Associate Designer

Our client, a contemporary womenswear brand, is seeking an Associate Designer to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities‍

  • Support the senior design team across all stages of the design and development process, from initial concept through production
  • Manage day-to-day design operations, including sample tracking, shipping and receiving, and maintaining fabric and trim libraries
  • Organize, review, and comment on seasonal color, fabric, and trim submissions
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of tech packs, collaborating with the Head Designer on style development
  • Partner closely with Technical Design on fit sessions, construction details, and garment revisions
  • Contribute to seasonal mood boards, inspiration decks, and trend research, while also sketching original concepts for the collection
  • Create and update CADs across all product categories
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Sales, and Showroom teams to ensure smooth execution and information flow
  • Help plan and execute seasonal photoshoots, including prep and on-set support
  • Maintain accurate line sheets and product data within JOOR
  • Communicate line updates and product changes to sales reps and showroom partners
  • Support brand presence across social media platforms through content posting and upkeep

Qualifications‍

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline preferred
  • 2–4+ years of experience in a women’s apparel design role
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility with a clear understanding of contemporary women’s fashion and trends
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through to ensure ideas are executed accurately
  • Interest and experience in fittings, technical specifications, and garment construction
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Clear communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with Apparel Magic and JOOR is a plus
