Associate Designer
Our client, a contemporary womenswear brand, is seeking an Associate Designer to join their team in NYC!
Responsibilities
- Support the senior design team across all stages of the design and development process, from initial concept through production
- Manage day-to-day design operations, including sample tracking, shipping and receiving, and maintaining fabric and trim libraries
- Organize, review, and comment on seasonal color, fabric, and trim submissions
- Assist in the creation and upkeep of tech packs, collaborating with the Head Designer on style development
- Partner closely with Technical Design on fit sessions, construction details, and garment revisions
- Contribute to seasonal mood boards, inspiration decks, and trend research, while also sketching original concepts for the collection
- Create and update CADs across all product categories
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Sales, and Showroom teams to ensure smooth execution and information flow
- Help plan and execute seasonal photoshoots, including prep and on-set support
- Maintain accurate line sheets and product data within JOOR
- Communicate line updates and product changes to sales reps and showroom partners
- Support brand presence across social media platforms through content posting and upkeep
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline preferred
- 2–4+ years of experience in a women’s apparel design role
- Strong aesthetic sensibility with a clear understanding of contemporary women’s fashion and trends
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through to ensure ideas are executed accurately
- Interest and experience in fittings, technical specifications, and garment construction
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
- Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Clear communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- Familiarity with Apparel Magic and JOOR is a plus
$60k-72k depending on experience
