HR Coordinator - Family Office
An established and highly respected family office in New York City is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented HR Coordinator to support its Human Resources function. This role reports directly to the HR Manager and offers the opportunity to work closely with an exceptional team in a thoughtful, high-standard environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong HR generalist experience and the ability to operate independently, exercising sound judgment and discretion while driving assigned HR responsibilities forward with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and employee records management
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and documentation
- Assist with compliance related to federal, New York State, and NYC labor laws
- Support culture-building initiatives and internal HR programs
- Partner with the HR Manager on special projects and process improvements
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries
- Ensure best practices across all HR functions while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of experience in an HR generalist or coordinator role
- Working knowledge of federal, NY State, and NYC labor laws and HR best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional judgment, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Operates with kindness, empathy, and integrity
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30/6:00pm
- Fully on-site
- Availability to be responsive after hours as needed
Compensation
- $100,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience
