Art Director (Social Media / Social-First Creative)
We are seeking an Art Director with deep expertise in social media design and social-first content creation. This role is focused exclusively on designing, concepting, and executing content for today’s leading social platforms and algorithms.
You are a visual storyteller who understands how to create scroll-stopping, platform-native content and thrive in a fast-paced test-and-learn environment. You are fluent in short-form video, social trends, and algorithm-driven creative strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and execute social-first visual content aligned with brand identity while leveraging platform trends, algorithm behaviors, and native formats such as Instagram Reels, Stories, and carousel posts.
- Concept, design, and edit short-form video content, producing multiple cuts, versions, and adaptations to optimize performance across audiences, placements, and platforms.
- Stay current on social media trends, algorithm updates, emerging visual styles, and content formats, continuously refining creative strategies to drive reach, engagement, and discoverability.
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product, and influencer teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact brand storytelling across social channels.
- Support creative ideation and execution for product launches, campaigns, and always-on social content, translating product features and benefits into compelling, social-native visuals.
- Analyze social performance metrics and apply insights to future creative decisions, leveraging A/B testing and iterative optimization to improve results.
- Collaborate with external creators, photographers, and videographers, providing creative direction and ensuring all deliverables meet brand standards and social best practices.
- Maintain and evolve visual systems and creative guidelines for social, balancing consistency with experimentation and trend adoption.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a social-focused Art Director or Senior Designer role within consumer products, lifestyle, entertainment, or culture-driven brands.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, and how creative performance varies across Reels, Stories, feeds, and emerging formats.
- Demonstrated expertise in short-form video creation and editing, with a strong sense of pacing, hooks, and platform-specific storytelling.
- A portfolio showcasing social-first creative work, including video, motion, and performance-driven content (beyond static brand assets).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro); experience with mobile-first editing tools is a plus.
- Ability to combine creative intuition with data-driven insights to refine and optimize content.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative, communicative, and comfortable iterating quickly based on feedback and performance results
