Accounts Receivable Specialist
Our client, a leading innovator in the beauty industry, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their dynamic team in New York City. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily Accounts Receivable (AR) activities
- Prepare, review, and distribute customer invoices; track and collect outstanding balances
- Monitor AR aging and follow up on delinquent accounts and short payments
- Post AR and AP transactions, cash receipts, and payments accurately in the general ledger
- Reconcile customer statements, accounts, and transactions to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and maintain AR aging reports for month-end close and internal reporting
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with internal accounting controls
- Prepare annual 1099s and assist with audits and financial reporting as needed
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 2–3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-SOLVING
