Accounts Receivable Specialist

Our client, a leading innovator in the beauty industry, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their dynamic team in New York City. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily Accounts Receivable (AR) activities
• Prepare, review, and distribute customer invoices; track and collect outstanding balances
• Monitor AR aging and follow up on delinquent accounts and short payments
• Post AR and AP transactions, cash receipts, and payments accurately in the general ledger
• Reconcile customer statements, accounts, and transactions to ensure accuracy
• Prepare and maintain AR aging reports for month-end close and internal reporting
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with internal accounting controls
• Prepare annual 1099s and assist with audits and financial reporting as needed
• Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 2–3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-SOLVING
