Design Director - Young Men's & Boys Apparel

Our client, an apparel manufacturing company, is seeking a Design Director to join their team working across their young men's and boys division!

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team
  • Provide creative and graphic direction
  • Develop original, sales-driving design concepts
  • Create trend-forward silhouettes, seasonal themes, and concept sketches
  • Develop color palettes, fabrications, all-over prints, and trim details
  • Prepare tech packs to support product development and production
  • Coordinate with overseas teams on seasonal fabric sourcing and sample development
  • Oversee all design initiatives to ensure consistency with brand identity
  • Conduct market research to identify key trends, styles, and opportunities
  • Mentor and support the professional growth of design team members
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, product development, sales, and executive leadership teams
  • Manage project timelines and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
  • Partner with technical designers during fittings
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely approvals and on-schedule deliveries
  • Follow T&A calendarsand production deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in design for young men's & boys apparel
  • CAD skills with proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-pace environment
