Temporary Bookkeeper

Our client, a financial services firm, is looking for a temporary Bookkeeper. This role will manage daily accounting operations for the network and district offices, including revenue and expenses related to risk and wealth management.

This position starts asap and will last for about 5-6 months.

Location: Midtown

Hours: 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm

*Fully Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for Network and District Office advisor compensation and 1210 account inquiries.
  • Act as liaison between offices.
  • Manage financial data: download reports, structure data, and support leadership with analysis for strategic planning.
  • Oversee Network Office loans from the home office.
  • Ensure accurate bi-monthly commission charges for Network and District Offices.
  • Manage accounts payable, bill filing for CAS processing, and vendor relationships.
  • Prepare credit card transaction templates; collect receipts, categorize expenses, and document business purposes.
  • Process and administer 401(k) contributions for all enrolled staff.
  • Print checks for financial reps and accounts payable as needed.
  • Handle finance department mail and maintain office supply inventory.
  • Manage accounts receivable: monitor rep indebtedness, process collections, and recommend debt write-offs to the CFO.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Handle 1099 processing and mailing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2–5+ years of experience processing financial transactions, ideally within financial services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems.
  • Proven finance experience or formal training preferred.
  • Strong team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of independent, sound decision-making.
