Associate Technical Designer
Our client, an established, apparel company, is seeking a motivated Associate Technical Designer for men's performance and lifestyle apparel to join their Product Development team. The successful candidate will work closely with Design, Product Development, and Production to ensure garments meet aesthetic intent, technical standards, and fit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the technical design process from prototype stage through production hand-off.
- Create and maintain accurate graded specs, technical sketches, and construction callouts.
- Participate in fittings, document corrections, and update tech packs accordingly.
- Review garment prototypes to ensure quality, construction, and fit meet brand standards.
- Measure samples and track sample comments to align with product development timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Vendors, QA) to troubleshoot construction and fit issues.
- Assist in maintaining pattern and block libraries
- Ensure all styles are production-ready and delivered on schedule.
Qualifications
- Degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–4+ years’ experience in Men’s Technical Design.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, patterns, and grading.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel.
- Experience with Costco, Sam’s Club, or BJ’s is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for fit, proportion, and quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
