Event Manager

Our client, a cultural nonprofit, is looking to hire an Event Manager on a freelance basis with experience in managing galas, ASAP! This role is 5x onsite in NYC - no exceptions!

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of all gala-related projects and tasks
  • Oversee daily status tracking, table names, ads, invoicing and collections, thank-you follow-up (including photos), list management, and table assignments
  • Provide consistent updates to senior leadership regarding project progress
  • Manage schedules, deadlines, and deliverables to keep the event on track
  • Maintain clear documentation, forms, and reports for leadership review
  • Coordinate across departments, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
  • Deliver excellent customer service and professional communication with internal and external partners
  • Partner with the VP of Development on prospecting and collaborate with department heads to maintain and track their prospect lists

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing large galas or nonprofit events
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines in a high-pressure environment
