Director of Operations
An established multi-unit organization based in Kentucky is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to manage and optimize the day-to-day performance of business units within the retail, food-service, and hospitality sectors.
Overview:
Reporting to senior leadership, this role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across multiple locations. The Director will lead financial planning, staff management, and policy implementation to drive safety, compliance, and profitability.
Core Responsibilities:
• Oversee all operational aspects for multiple business units.
• Develop, implement, and enforce policies that ensure efficiency and consistency.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and full P&L responsibility for each location.
• Supervise HR activities including onboarding, training, payroll, certification compliance, and record-keeping.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and oversee timely, cost-effective deliverables.
• Oversee public relations, advertising, and social media strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, Kentucky labor regulations, and all required permits and licenses.
Qualifications:
• Extensive leadership experience managing 10+ direct reports in multi-unit operations.
• Strong knowledge of retail and food-service operations.
• Proven ability to handle multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, budgeting, and operational strategy.
• Ability to identify potential issues and implement proactive solutions.
• Flexible availability to accommodate business needs.
Additional Skills:
• Experience liaising with city and state agencies for permits and regulatory compliance.
• Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with strong negotiation skills.
