Legal Assistant - Construction
Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Construction Legal Support Specialist to join their dynamic Real Estate practice in Miami. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organized legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to support a collaborative, high-performing team.
Schedule: Full-time | Overtime as needed
Compensation: Up to $85,000 base + bonus + full benefits package
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive support on construction and real estate matters, including litigation, transactional work, and strategic initiatives
- Manage attorney calendars, coordinate client communications, and assist with monthly billing and compliance tracking
- Prepare, revise, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, memoranda, and closing materials with accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate title matters, conduct lien searches, and manage electronic filings and recordings (e.g., Simplifile)
- Organize legal files, update case materials, and ensure accurate documentation across systems
- Assist with travel arrangements, process expenses, enter attorney time, and draft engagement letters
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff on overflow work and special projects
- Navigate firm resources to recommend solutions tailored to client needs
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of legal support experience in a real estate or construction practice at a mid-to-large law firm
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with iManage preferred; bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Strong knowledge of local and federal court rules and e-filing procedures
- Familiarity with billing systems and adherence to client billing guidelines
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, paired with sound judgment and discretion
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong administrative foundation, including calendar management, travel coordination, and invoice processing
