Compliance Director – Consumer Goods

A Miami-based  consumer goods brand is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Compliance Director to lead its chargeback and customer compliance initiatives. This role is instrumental in protecting revenue, driving operational excellence, and enhancing cross-functional alignment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end chargeback process, ensuring the accurate review, documentation, and resolution of customer claims while protecting the company from revenue loss.
  • Oversee and implement compliance strategies aligned with evolving customer requirements, distribution policies, and retail partner expectations.
  • Review and analyze weekly audit reports, identifying recurring issues and leading root cause analysis and cross-functional corrective actions.
  • Serve as the lead negotiator on high-stakes chargeback disputes, partnering directly with major retail and wholesale accounts to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Maintain and optimize internal systems and processes for compliance tracking, reporting, and documentation integrity.
  • Prepare and present monthly chargeback and compliance summary reports to executive leadership, offering insights on trends, risk exposure, and resolution success rates.
  • Partner with finance, operations, sales, and legal teams to ensure alignment on compliance initiatives and customer policies.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and customer compliance updates to ensure the organization remains agile and informed.

What You Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in compliance, chargeback management, or supply chain operations within the consumer goods or retail industries.
  • Proven leadership skills and a track record of developing and implementing effective compliance strategies.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities and the ability to navigate complex customer relationships with diplomacy and precision.
  • High-level analytical and reporting proficiency, with advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP and compliance software systems.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to influence across departments and leadership levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence, with comfort in C-level reporting environments.
