Maintenance Mechanic II (On-Site)
Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for the support of production equipment and other facility assets. The Maintenance Mechanic II must be able to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, maintain and repair operating equipment during production and breakdowns. In addition, the Maintenance Mechanic II will work with others to achieve plant business objectives of safety, productivity, customer service, quality, cost and environmental protection.
Responsibilities
• Troubleshoots production equipment and mechanical failures, repairs and performs preventive maintenance (PM) as required to ensure equipment reliability.
• Assists Operations, Quality and Engineering teams with root cause analysis for 5 Why’s, change management, Incident Management, and Non-Conformances to identify reasons for incident causes.
• Works with operators and support production and transfer skills to other technicians
• Supports the daily operations of Planned Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance standards while working with teams, focus priority, and plant directives.
• Accurately and fully completes all regulatory and compliance related documentation and procedures.
• Work with teams to fabricate machine parts as needed and responsible for shop cleaning and 5S.
• Ensures completion of work orders as scheduled and document in the CMMS in a timely manner.
• Reviews equipment instructions, blueprints, electrical, and pneumatic schematics to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or re-engineering of parts or subassemblies.
• Participates and lead work groups or team activities related to plant performance improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
• Mid to high level break-fix & preventative maintenance experience required.
• Experience with troubleshooting of PLC controlled equipment required.
Skills/ Abilities Problem Solving
• Strong commitment to safety and quality processes, including but not limited to Lockout Tag Out (LOTO).
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and perform repairs.
• Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems.
• Understand Ohms law, voltage availability.
• Understand electrical; 460 VAC 3-phase and 110 VAC control sources as far as determining power.
• Knowledge of controls and PLC troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to perform electronic, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments.
• Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System knowledge desired.

Work Environment
The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary. Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e. milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly require to talk, hear and grasp items. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, strong fumes, loud noises, and occasionally extreme temperatures
The employee must frequently grasp, lift and/or move items 10 pounds and occasionally grasp, lift and/or move items 33lbs.
