Associate Designer - Outdoor and Activewear
Our premiere wholesale apparel client, is seeking a creative and knowledgeable associate designer with experience in outdoor apparel and activewear to join their team!
Responsibilities:
-Create style development plans consisting of outerwear, sportswear, and graphics
-Apply expertise knowledge of the outdoor apparel and activewear market
-Ensure unified brand identify though trends in fabric, silhouettes, brands and end design
-Manage T&A calendar and SKU Counts
-Merchandise seasonal line
-Lead internal design team meeting with sales and management to show new development
-Create seasonal production direction
-Develop seasonal color palettes
-Create and develop design through B&W sketches
-Color CAD seasonal brand development
-Create outsource and manager graphic and print development
-Review and approve lab dips, wash panels and print strike offs for seasonal development
-Work in PLM to upload style details, sketches etc.
-Work with oversea factories to develop new styles and source new fabrics
-Update development chart weekly
-Manage print and graphics library
-Pass off styles to assistant designers
-Review received garments with the sale team
-Be involved in the production cycle by attending handoff meetings for orders, create and manage hangtag development, pass off production order detail to production manager and technical designers, attend production fitting for PP/TOP stage, etc.
Qualifications:
-3+Years Apparel Design Experience
-Branded and Private label experience
-Current and relevant factory network for sourcing and development
-Graphic and Embroidery Experience
-Expert with adobe design software: Illustrator primarily, Photoshop secondary.
-PLM experience (a plus)
-Team Player and open to design changes/constructive feedback.
-A keen eye for detail and excellent follow through.
-Ability to manage and meet deadlines
