Maître D' - Luxury Hospitality Group

Our client, a luxury hospitality group, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Maître D'. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our valued guests and VIP’s, as well as helping to oversee the entire operations of the restaurant, to maximize culture, experience, and revenue.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for guests and VIP’s dining at the restaurant, offering a warm and professional welcome.
- Engage with guests, building strong relationships, maintaining a constant presence on the floor, and acknowledging departing patrons with the same level of engagement as during their arrival.
- Manage and optimize reservations, seating assignments, and dining room flow to ensure seamless service and minimal wait times.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of VIP’s preferences, allergies, dining history, and special occasions to provide personalized service.
- Coordinate closely with the service team, kitchen, and management to ensure operational excellence during all meal periods and events.
- Oversee and train front-of-house host/hostess team, upholding a culture of hospitality, confidentiality, and attentiveness.
- Handle member inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and discretion.
- Liaise with the Events department for private bookings, club functions, and special requests.
- Maintain a polished and welcoming appearance of the entrance, dining room, and surrounding public spaces.
- Act as the “face” of the restaurant to new and returning guests, representing our organization and ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
- Uphold company policies and ensure that all guests are treated with consistency and respect.
- Provide daily reporting on reservations, guest activity, VIP activity and service notes to relevant departments.


Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Maître D’ or in a senior front-of-house leadership role, preferably within a fine dining environment or luxury hotel.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills with a calm and professional demeanor.
- High emotional intelligence and a natural ability to read a room and anticipate needs.
- Proficient in reservation management software (e.g., Sevenrooms, OpenTable, etc).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to discretion and guest privacy, especially as it relates to VIP’s.
- Impeccable grooming, presentation, and verbal etiquette.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
