Tailor - Luxury Fashion
Our client, a luxury multibrand fashion retailer, is searching for an experienced Tailor to join their team in Philadelphia! This role is 5 days onsite.
Responsibilities:
-Fit and study garments on customers to determine required alterations
-Measure clients to ensure proper product fit
-Sew garments, using needles and thread or sewing machines
-Measure parts such as sleeves or pant legs, and mark or pin-fold alteration lines
-Measure materials to mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicators
-Make garment style changes, such as tapering pant legs, narrowing lapels, and adding or removing shoulder pads
-Let out or take in seams in suits and other garments to improve fit
-Record required alterations and instructions on tags, and attach them to garments
-Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information
-Remove stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers or razor blades
-Repair or replace defective garment parts such as pockets, zippers, snaps, buttons, and linings
-Press and smooth garments using hand irons
Qualifications:
-5-7+ years of custom tailoring experience and strong customer service
-Jackets: ability to take in sides, shorten sleeves, collars and jackets
-Pants: ability to hem, take in waist, seat, and crotch
-Shirts, Blouses, Vests: ability to shorten hems and shorten sleeves from the top, take in side seams & add darts
-Experience with Men’s suiting a plus
-Must have Saturday availability!
