Director of Construction

Our client, a construction company who have completed several million square feet of community, commercial and industrial space, is seeking a Director of Construction to join their team.


They must be able to perform the following:

• Oversee the entire set of field operations for a $75-$100 mil/yr General Contractor who also has field staff for self-performed trades consisting of Metal Stud/Drywall/Paint.  Includes scheduling of manpower for these trades.
• Assignment of Superintendents to new projects as they come online.  If needed, work with HR to hire new, qualified Superintendents and assign them projects accordingly.  Includes proper training of the field Superintendents and Field Staff.
• Train and Supervise all Field Superintendents for ground up and tenant improvement construction.  Monitors and audits the Superintendent’s Daily Job Reports, Photos, Safety Meetings, Schedules, 3-week look a heads, submittals and RFI’s
• Must know or learn Procore and become proficient.
• Ability to meet with inspectors and supervisors for the various municipalities to obtain essential approvals and clearances from the various Building Departments and Public Works Departments.
• Be proficient in Civil Construction, Concrete Tilt-up Construction, CMU block and Wood Construction with Tenant Improvements, Restaurants and Retail
• Create and sustain a culture of adherence to construction schedules, requiring all Project Managers and Superintendents to generate and update project schedules on Microsoft Project.
• Responsible for Maintaining and Enforcing Safety programs and protocols – includes ongoing field training and programs such as OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training and CPR classes.
• Maintain an active Dust Control Permit license with Clark County, Nevada.
• Must be able to travel to out of state projects in Utah, Arizona and Idaho to ensure all LMCC processes and protocols are being implemented by these out of state Superintendents.
