Human Resources Specialist

Our client is searching for a qualified and resourceful human resources generalist to support our department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. They will help with important functions such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits. An ideal applicant will have a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding and employee compensation and evaluations. Candidates will need to have knowledge of California Labor Laws

*This is a six-month contract role with the possibility of an extension*

This role can be either remote or hybrid, but the candidate must have prior experience and a strong understanding of California HR and labor laws


Responsibilities:

· Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise

· Administer compensation and benefit plans

· Ensure compliance with labor regulations

· Oversee performance reviews

· Keep employee files in an organized manner

· Be skilled in data collection

Qualifications:

· 5+ years’ experience as an HR Generalist

· Experience with APD Payroll platforms

· Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise

· Knowledge of benefits, leave of absences, and reimbursements

· Ability to conduct performance reviews

· Knowledge of California laws

· Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies

· Interest in environmental and social justice
