Designer, Kids/Baby

Our client, a Japanese fashion brand, is seeking a Kids/Baby Designer to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities:

  • Create seasonal concept stories and propose new styles for both Kids/Baby collections.
  • Propose emerging trends, brands and silhouettes
  • Create documents to present and discuss ideas with Tokyo, and Shanghai counterparts
  • Propose emerging trends and silhouettes
  • Present and discuss ideas with London, Tokyo, and Shanghai counterparts
  • Create design sketches, propose new fabrics, support fabric development, creating tech packages, and oversee samples from proto to production
  • Develop flats and technical sketches
  • Manage design presentations (concept sketches, colors, assortments, etc.)
  • Manage and support seasonal/annual Kids/Baby R&D schedule
  • Collaborate with Designers and cross-functional teams in Tokyo, Shanghai, London and LA
  • Organize and help create color stories for each season
  • Organize Kids/Baby samples, boards, and working areas
  • Attend evening meetings with Tokyo/Shanghai team as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
  • 5+ years of design experience in KIDS/BABY apparel
  • Technical knowledge of garment construction and finishing, fabrics, silhouettes, prints, colors, and trims
  • High proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Workspace-Excellent visual and verbal communication skills.
  • Product development and production experience
  • Fulltime in office
  • Travel to Tokyo or Europe may be required

Salary Range: $85,000-$120,000
