Licensing Manager

Our client, a sporting and apparel company, is hiring a Licensing Manager.

The Licensing Manager must possess a range of communication, analytical, and business skills to manage licensees within the brand portfolio. Responsibilities include day-to-day licensee management, design & marketing approvals, royalty report and payment collection, forecasting, new business development, category/licensee gap analysis, trademark protection management, contract negotiation, and contract renewals. The Licensing  Manager works across multiple departments within the organisation.

The role requires coordination and communication of brand, marketing, product, and licensing strategies. This role also includes managing all processes and initiatives to foster cohesive, consistent, worldwide brand messaging and trademark protection. In addition, the Licensing Manager is responsible for cultivating new business and contract negotiation and compliance within the territory(s).
The role requires international travel as the company’s portfolio is a global one.  Candidates should be prepared and, in a position, to travel regularly.

• Day- to-day licensee management.
• Develop and manage budget and costs for licensee portfolio together with the Sr. Director of Licensing.
• Provide assistance in a broad range of strategic and operational issues/areas, as well as provide perspective and recommendations on significant issues faced by the licensees.
• Oversee product and marketing approvals and TM registration/protection processes together with the support of the Assistant Licensing manager.
• Ensure consistency of the marketing and brand strategies and activation between product development, marketing, and licensees/retailers.
• Must be able to work effectively as a partner with licensees and/or retailers to drive sales and enhance profitability.
• Conduct ongoing business analysis to maximize profitability.
• Conduct and present research for new business initiatives.
• Travel to meet with new and existing licensees in their respective territories.

Required Qualifications
• Three to four years of licensee management experience.
• Experience working with and administrating obligations under licensing agreements.
• Strong written & oral communication and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an entrepreneurial team environment.
• Strong project management and execution skills.
• Demonstrate a strong desire to exceed expectations inherent with the position.
• Excel in a team environment, demonstrate an upbeat attitude, willingness to be heard, sound business reasoning, and ability to work effectively and professionally.
• Bachelor’s degree or significant relevant experience.
• Proficient Computer Knowledge and user of Microsoft Office, Work, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Experience managing others a plus.
• Foreign language(s) fluency a plus.
