Business Continuity Program Manager

Our client, an investment management company, is looking for a Business Continuity Program Manager to join their team. In this role you will lead the planning, maintenance, and management of the firm's business continuity program which will include emergency response and crisis management. You will be working in collaboration with the business units, compliance, IT, and information security to create and cohesive approach to firm wide business resiliency.

*Direct hire or temp to perm, Pay will be $150-190k *


  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of the Enterprise Business Continuity program, including development, implementation, testing, and on-going maintenance and evolution.
  • Perform Business Continuity Program tasks, governance, and oversight, including facilitating business impact analyses, conducting risk assessments, enacting remediation plans, developing and implementing organization-wide business continuity training, and coordinating the annual update and review of business continuity plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with internal business units to understand their specific business continuity and contingency needs, and ensure they have adequate and successfully tested plans in place to meet those needs and mitigate the impact of potential adverse conditions on company operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Technology and Information Security Leads to ensure the IT Disaster Recovery (DR) and Cybersecurity Plans are integrated in the overall Business Continuity Program.
  • Monitor emerging business continuity practices and technology tools for potential adoption.
  • Monitor and report on the Business Continuity Program – including processes, readiness, events, and exercise results – as appropriate to committees, business lines, other stakeholders, auditors, and examiners.
  • Partner with IT to ensure that – where business continuity is dependent on technology, systems, infrastructure, data, and vendors – adequate Disaster Recovery plans and procedures are in place.
  • Develop and execute regular business continuity training, exercises, and testing. Update all plans regularly based on lessons learned.
  • Foster an environment among management and staff of business preparedness and resiliency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization, and provide guidance related to business continuity to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Implement project and change management best practices to keep work on track and ensure we are getting value from our internal projects.


  • Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 10 years work experience, preferably in a collaborative environment
  • 5+ years’ experience in a business continuity, operational resiliency, or crisis management role in a regulated industry (financial services industry preferred)
  • CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), CFCP (Certified Functional Continuity Professional) preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with current industry standards
  • In-depth experience in crisis management and incident response
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of stakeholders at various organizational levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • High level of personal initiative, creativity, and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Office 365 suite
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau or Microsoft BI) preferred
