Manager/Director, Packaging Engineering (Fragrance)

Our client, a fragrance company, is seeking a Packaging Development and Sourcing Manager + Director to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Packaging Development and Sourcing team
• Oversee all new launches and on-going value analysis
• Collaborate with outside vendors and subcontracting partners
• Define specifications, design criteria, and quality parameters from component production through filling and assembly
• Manage long term contracts alongside Supply Chain team
• Implement strategic opportunities, meet target COGs, tooling budgets, and supply chain strategies
• Recommend sourcing and supply chain strategy
• Evaluate risks and develop clear mitigation plans
• Present new packaging concepts, technologies, and market trends
• Provide information on design for manufacturing, cost of goods, investments, and preliminary lead times for packaging

Qualifications:‍

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
• 5-10+ years of experience in package development (must be in fragrance/cosmetics)
• Understand fit and finish of packaging components and subcomponents
• Knowledge of packaging manufacturing, contract manufacturing production processes
• Technical competency and materials knowledge (injection molding, glass forming and decoration, dispensing systems, folding carton/rigid box design)
