Men's Denim Designer

Our client, a famous fashion brand based in NYC, is seeking a Designer for men's denim category to join their team! This is a full-time contract position set to last 3 months with potential to extend.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and unify creative execution of product.
• Manage creative and technical development of product within merchandise assortment strategy.
• Research seasonal trends, themes, wash, color, raw materials, and styling.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, and Technical Design teams to achieve product execution and maintain design integrity.
• Participate in fittings.
• Create design cards for first prototypes and assort samples, including measurements, construction, and wash details.
• Develop and counter source yarn/fabric and trim with production and suppliers.
• Approval of wash submits and shade bands.

Qualifications:

• 4-5 years Denim Design experience
• Working knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and pattern/fit.
• Knowledge of fabric/yarn constructionAbility to conduct wash research
• Knowledge of seasonal silhouette and color trendsStrong illustration/presentation skills
• Detail oriented, good follow through
• Proficient in PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• BA Fashion Design
